I Need It Back

About this site

Last updated October 1, 2026

INeedItBack.com is refund help for contractor and vendor disputes. It is an independent online service for people in the United States who paid a contractor or vendor and didn't get what they paid for. You can reach us at help@ineeditback.com.

What we do

  • A free options tool. You answer six questions and see general options organized by how you paid and what happened, with timing estimates and links to official sources. Try it.
  • Free guides. Plain-English explainers and a free letter template. Browse the guides.
  • An optional letter pack. An editable refund-request draft, evidence checklist and timeline built from your details. See a fictional example.

What we are not

We are not a law firm, and our guides are written by our editorial team, not by attorneys. Nothing here is legal advice, and we don't assess your rights, represent you, send letters or file claims for you. No refund or other outcome is guaranteed. Read the disclaimer and terms.

How we write and check our guides

  • Each guide links to primary sources where we can, such as the FTC, the CFPB, state agencies and court self-help sites, and says when a point is a state-specific example.
  • We describe situations in general terms. We don't name or accuse specific businesses.
  • Every guide shows when it was last updated. We change that date only after reviewing the sources or changing the content.
  • Deadlines in the options tool come from fixed rules that each cite a source. They are shown as estimates, and we ask you to confirm them with your issuer, bank, platform or court.

How we use AI

In the paid letter pack, an AI model fills in two short parts of a fixed, human-written letter template, using your own words. An automated check rejects wording that makes promises, threats or accusations; if the check fails or the AI service is unavailable, your pack uses your wording in the template without AI. AI does not decide deadlines or which options are shown. You review and edit everything before you use it.

Corrections

If you spot an error, an outdated rule or a broken source link, email help@ineeditback.com with the page address and what should change. We review reports and update the page and its date when we make a change.
